The Repository is a WEB based Linux document imaging software. The system is entirely WEB based including the administrative functions.  Some of the administrative functions that can be performed over the internet through a standard browser are:

• Create multiple databases on the same server.
• Virtual hosting- you can run more then one copy of TheRepository on the same server. Your license key is still the one being used for all the programs and databases running.
• Uses the Berkeley Database that can grow in size up to many terabytes and NASA uses it also.
• Be able to search multiple databases, whether they are on the local or remote servers, with one search request.
• Create multiple database storage areas online as well as perform manual or automated backups of the database tables.
• Create as many indexes per database and each index can have unlimited database fields.
• Perform data entry online from anywhere through the browser. The image of the page is displayed next to the database fields to make data entry easy and fast. If the document is a DOC file or other electronic file and it has text in it the text will be indexed and display next to the database fields.
• Create or edit users and groups and assign access rights to databases for both over the Internet.
• Perform simple or advanced searches with Boolean options and search all database fields and full text with one search request.
• TheRepository has four levels of security: system admin, supervisor, DB admin, and general user.
• Create folders and subfolders, and set security as you create them.
• Obtain a security report from folders or files, which will show who has what access rights and be able to change those rights.
• Upload electronic files of all types as well as images and multimedia file formats.
• The program will index all the text in Word, Excel, PDFs, AutoCAD and other electronic files automatically as they are uploaded into the system.
• The program can display thumbnails of the image pages including PDF files.
• Batch Uploads of zip files. The system will automatically unzip archive files and index the individual documents within them. The file names will carry forward into TheRepository.
• Copy or move files or folders within the same database or between other databases.
• Users can select files or folders and download them to their PC in a zipped format or if the files are images they can be retrieved as PDF files.
• We provide a FREE PC program we call the DataBridge that will organize your local files and zip them up and transfer them into TheRepository in the directory you wish. It also enables you to view images and group selected files and create documents from batch scans.
• Export files or folders with their contents uploaded to your browser. The exported zip file contains the images or electronic files and a database file containing all the field information that goes with those files. That means documents can be transferred freely from TheRepository to another imaging system through the DataBridge. Importing images and electronic files with database fields into TheRepository is just as easy using The DataBridge.
• A complete audit trail is included that records every action a user does on the server. That means you can search to see who accessed a particular document or what a user or group did on the server. Another application is to check the number of data entries a contracted service bureau performed on TheRepository.

    The database we use is the Berkley Database that we have tested with over 33,000,000 records in it and no problems with speed and reliability. The Repository does what the name implies. It will store ANY type of file format and return it to you using just your web browser. You will be able to transmit files of all types to the server via the WEB and index them. It will index the text within PDF and DOC files so you can search text within electronic documents. You can search for your files and images from anywhere in the world.
